Open Letter To Hisbah Police From An Angry Muslim Living Among Christians In Enugu State

OfficialReporter

Dear Hisbah Police, please stop embracing Islam. I'm very disappointed in your mode of operation in recent times, why are you hell-bent on disgracing Islam? Our Islam is a religion of peace, justice, and fairness.

I have seen several reports in the news on how Hisbah Police destroyed Igbos businesses in Kano State because they sell alcohol. We must understand that Nigeria is a secular state with a secular constitution. The constitution permits every Nigerian to live and do legal business anywhere in the country.

Selling alcohol is not illegal in the country, although, Islam prohibits alcohol for its adherents. We must understand that not only Muslims live in Kano State, there Christians and others whose beliefs permit alcohol consumption.

Hisbah Police should stop destroying people's businesses because they sell alcohol, they should focus on educating Muslims on the evil associated with consuming alcohol.

I have also seen how a barber was arrested by Hisbah because he made hairstyles which are against Islam for customers. It is disgraceful that Hisbah can stoop so low, why should you arrest anyone because of hairstyle. If you believe the hairstyle is against Islam, please warn your fellow Muslims from doing it, you have nothing to do with the barber.

Hisbah and Kano State Government must understand that Nigeria is for all, many Muslims are living in Christians dominated areas especially in the South East, no one is destroying their businesses and victimizing them.

Hisbah and Governor Umar Ganduje should be very careful with their operation in order not to cause another war in the country. Please kindly help to share this letter till it gets to Hisbah and Governor Ganduje.

Your brother in Islam,

Abdullah Abdulrahman.
